The Developmental Disabilities Database (DDD)

The Mailman Center for Child Development at the University of Miami School of Medicine is a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service, and provides this web site as a resource for parents, families, and consumers. It includes documents, website links, and videos originally developed by the Mailman Center for online training of health care professionals*. The categories offered include: assistive technology, early care & education/child care, early intervention, education-school age, employment, services & supports, health care, and adults with developmental disabilities. We also provide a “Further Assistance Contact Form” where a consumer can ask for help in finding additional information (in English and Spanish).

The Florida center for Inclusive Communities (UCEDD)

Since 1963, University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDD) have been working to accomplish a shared vision that foresees a nation in which all Americans, including Americans with disabilities, participate fully in their communities. Independence, productivity and community inclusion are key components of this vision. Funded by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities, there are currently 67 UCEDDs that focus on: interdisciplinary pre-service preparation and continuing education, community services, research, and dissemination.

Florida Office on Disability and Health

Florida was recently awarded a disability and health grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This grant allowed for the creation of the Florida Office on Disability and Health, housed within the College of Public Health & Health Professions at the University of Florida. The overall goal of this project is to improve the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of Floridians of all ages living with a disability.
