News from the Nature Coast

Pictured above is Ian Mischloney, who attends the ARC Nature Coast in Brooksville, Florida. Ian riding King and wearing the 4th and 5th place ribbons he won in his first-ever competition. Ian is a member of POSSE (Promoting Opportunities and Skills with Special Equestrians). Many students, including Ian, participated in the Special Olympics State Games on Friday and Saturday May 29th and 30th at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. Ian won 1st place in the western trails, independent competion, at the State Games.

Pictured below from left to right are Doreen Lyons, who won 3rd place in Western trails (bronze medal), Tricia Maeder, POSSE Instructor, Patty Graves, Volunteer, Wade Graves, who won 1st place in western trail walk/trot class & 1st place in western equitation ( 2 gold medals), Jerilyn McCarthy, POSSE instructor, and Theresa Smith, POSSE Instructor.

Not pictured are Steen Guarneri, 4th place in western trials, Shawn Fegan, 3rd place in western trails, Gina Stockton, 4th place in equitation, Elisha Koyoth, 1st place western equitation, Georgianna Volkman, 3rd place showmanship (bronze medal) and Isaac Vickers who won 5th place in western trails.

Volunteers were Patty Graves, Kathi Roeser, Terry Albright, Eileen Lyons, Micheal & Michele Hardin, and Cathy Osborn.
