Council Application

Thank you for your interest in a position on the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council (FDDC). The Council is federally mandated under the Developmental Disabilities Act with the mission to advocate and promote meaningful participation in all aspects of life for persons with developmental disabilities.  All positions on the Council are appointed by the Governor.

The Council conducts internal reviews of interested applicants throughout the year based on the needs of the Council and the openings that are, or become, available.

We ask that all interested persons complete our brief Applicant Questionnaire. The questionnaire can be filled in online or printed and submitted to our office.

The completed questionnaire helps us determine what numbered “seat” on the Council best matches your qualifications based on the requirements of the Developmental Disabilities Act through the Governor’s office, and it helps us better understand your interests, needs and expertise.

Your completed questionnaire will be shared with our Council’s Applicant Task Force members for review based on the current or future openings we may have.

Upon our review of your questionnaire you may be asked to participate in an interview with the Council Applicant Task Force.  Should this be the case, our office will contact you directly.

To complete the Applicant Questionnaire, click here and complete the fillable form. Save it to your desktop and e-mail to or print the form and submit it by fax to (850) 922-6702 attention:  Vanda Jenkins.

Our office will provide you with instructions on how to complete the Governor’s appointment application process after you have met with the Task Force.

For additional information or assistance please contact or call (850) 488-4180.
