2026 Bobbie Lake Family Member Award

About the Bobbie Lake Award

Bobbie Lake was a family member who had a tremendous impact on Florida’s disability community through his advocacy and leadership. As early as the 1980s, Bobbie envisioned children and adults with I/DD living their lives to the fullest in their home communities. Bobbie created relationships at the local and state levels and educated everyone on the abilities and needs of individuals with I/DD. Bobbie’s proactive advocacy ultimately led to all students with I/DD in his community being served in their home schools and the creation of new programs where none previously existed. The lives of individuals with I/DD and their families are better because of Bobbie’s contributions as a leader, professional, mentor, and volunteer!
