FDDC Legislative Briefing 2-6-26: Week 4 of Session
Thursday, February 5, 2026, marked the last day of official Legislative business for week 4 of the 2026 Legislative session. We had expected both chambers to release their preliminary budget proposals, but both chambers decided to delay releasing their budgets. Leadership from both chambers indicated that budgets will be released next week. Odds are diminishing for an on-time adjournment of session, but it is still not impossible.
Outlook for Week 5:
As mentioned above, we are anticipating initial budget proposals to be released by both the House and Senate. We will monitor and report on the details. The picture will become much clearer after week 5 as to which bills have a legitimate chance of becoming law.
