FDDC’s 2026 Legislative Briefing 3-30-26
In this newsletter is a list of bills that the Council recommended to the 2026 Legislature during its regular session which ended on March 13. These bills will eventually be presented to the Governor. For each bill, he will have the option to sign the bill into law, veto the bill, or allow the bill to become law without his signature by not taking action on the bill within the 15-day time limit established by the Constitution.
For bills that did not pass, we have provided a brief summary of how far the bill progressed in the process. This will give the reader an idea of bills that generated some momentum vs those that had no chance of passage. In a few instances, the substance of a bill that did not pass was added as an amendment to another bill that did pass. We have indicated where this occurred.
