Broward County, Florida – I have a person with a developmental disability and other disabilities including medical and having a supportive home health aid will keep me in a safe environment and in the home I love. Good home health aid is hard to find and keep because they are asking for more money in order to pay their bills. I have experienced bad aid and it scared me when a good aid walked out because they are expecting more money and I cannot afford it. I do not want to go to an ALF or nursing home because they aren’t fully safe from my own personal experience. I have a home health aide who was cold toward me and could care less because they were not paid and I could not afford to give them additional. Those who liked me wanted to stay but they had bills to pay and feed their family members
